Since 1966, the year of their first official single and studio album, Pooh‘s popularity has never faded. But an unexpected and radical change occurred in 2009 as drummer Stefano D’Orazio, announces the intention to leave the band after 38 years. Well, the remaining trio, Roby Facchinetti, Dodi Battaglia and Red Canzian do not lose heart and they start new musical projects. The current one is a live tour in many Italian cities, to promote their new album “Dove comincia il sole”.
In 1971, Pooh release a single which will become one of the most popular ballads in the history of Italian pop music. The song is “Tanta voglia di lei“, which reaches n.1 in the singles chart in just two weeks. It’s actually the story of an infidelity. The protagonist, however, does regret about his one-night love affair and decides to go back to his loved one. The band recorded the song also in Spanish and in English on the same musical base, but with different titles.
