Blond, lean and striking in appeareance Patty Pravo (born Nicoletta Strambelli in Venice, 1948) whose career has spanned more than forty years, is an immensily popular Italian pop singer. In her youth years, she got acquainted with Ezra Pound and Pope John XXIII. Her first single in 1966. “Ragazzo triste”, was the first pop song broadcasted on Vatican Radio. Here she sings live at Sanremo Music Festival, after several years away from the scenes. She did not win the contest, but earned the Critics Music Award for “E dimmi che non vuoi morire” (“And tell me you don’t wanna die”) written by rocker Vasco Rossi. It will hit #4 in the Italian singles chart a month later.
