Giorgia (full name Giorgia Todrani), born in Rome in 1971, is one of the most famous italian female singers. She is known for her soulful voice and great vocal ability. She grew up singing jazz and soul classics by names such as Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin. She has been singing duets with great artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Luciano Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Ronan Keating, Herbie Hancock and Elton John. The popular American Billboard magazine stated that “she could have had a great success in the USA too”.
In this video, she shows all her wide vocal range in a live performance of “Di sole e d’azzurro” (“Of sun and blue”). The song, written by Zucchero, finished in the 2nd place in Sanremo Music Festival in 2001. The single is included in her 5th studio album “Senza ali”. Its title would then be modified in “With you” for the British market.
