One of the most popular Italian singers all over the world of the last 30 years, Eros Ramazzotti (Roma, 1963) started playing guitar at 7, and as a teenager, he began writing songs with the help of his father Rodolfo. He tried to attend a music conservatory but failed the admission test. After a few years, his career breakthrough came right from Sanremo stage, back in 1984, when he won the music festival in the “Newcomers” category with the song “Terra Promessa“.
Since then, he has sold something like over 50 million records, gained fame in most non-English speaking countries in Europe and in the Latin America, as he has released most of his albums both in Italian and Spanish language.
From the Sanremo Music Festival in 1985, a 21 y.o. Ramazzotti performs his first big hit selling over a million copies, “Una storia importante“. It went to #1 spot in the Italian singles chart and #2 in the French one. It is included in his first studio album “Cuori agitati” and also in a new version in his greatest hits compilation “Eros” in 1997.
