I Cugini di Campagna are an Italian pop band established in Rome in 1970, becoming famous for their extensive use of “falsetto” in their songs. They came on the musical scene with their first single “Anima mia” in 1973, which is still their most famous hit, but reached n.1 in the Italian pop singles chart the next year with “Un’altra donna” (“Another woman”). In this rare video, they are in their first and most popular line-up, with the lead singer Flavio Paulin. A rigid censorship didn’t allow the original lyrics to be sung on TV at that time, so the group had to change a couple of lines, in order not to stress the morality/chastisement theme of the song. The verse “to sin together is not punished” became “to stay together is not wrong”!
