Besides giving the name of the 1975 album, Yuppi du is also an Italian comedy-drama directed by Adriano Celentano who played the lead role, wrote it , produced it and scored it as well. The ambitious project played off when the movie was accepted in competition at the Cannes Film Festival and and has since become a cult classic in Italy. The album was successful as well, and its title track was a n.1 hit.
