After 18 years from his last live concert, Adriano Celentano is coming back to the Verona Arena in two concerts scheduled for tomorrow, October 8th, and the 9th. The event is named Rock Economy and will be broadcasted live on Canale 5, the flagship television station of the Mediaset network.
The show’s title foreshadows that it will not be just a musical event but socio-political as well. Celentano has recently let know that reharsals are going fine, he’s working daily with a dozen of musicians from 5.30pm to 9. Is he sleeping in the morning? Not at all, it seems that the “Molleggiato” loves to take long and relaxing breaks walking in the woods of the Asiago plateau where he owns a house.
Not much has leaked out about the Arena’s guest stars, but the only sure thing is that Gianni Morandi will be on stage. The two of them, great friends in private life too, have already performed together in the last Sanremo Music Festival last February, singing “Ti penso e cambia il mondo“, the 4th single extracted from the latest Celentano’s album “Facciamo finta che sia vero”.
The track, written by the prolific songwriter Pacifico, is an intense ballad dedicated to love, not as an end in itself, but as the antidote to cruelty, loneliness and anger, for a change and openness to the world. Its musical harmony has been built around the Prelude Op. 28, No. 20 by Frederic Chopin.
